Finland secure a 1-0 win over Republic of Ireland to move temporarily top of UEFA Nations League Group B4. Fredrik Jensen scored the only goal of the game to hand his side the three points, converting a low strike after Darren Randolph carelessly gave the ball away at the back for the visitors. Finland keeper Lukas Hradecky produced a fine save late on to deny Ronan Curtis a late equaliser, allowing the hosts to hold out for the win.

71' Kamara pulls the strings in the Finland midfield and feeds Uronen, but the full-back sees his cross repelled by Duffy in the box.
69' Doherty pushes forward down the right flank, but fails to beat the first man with his cross into the box.
68' Ireland pay the price for making one mistake at the back. The pressure is on the visitors now to respond to the setback.
F. Jensen
66' GOALLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLL!!!!! JENSEN PUTS FINLAND AHEAD!!! 1-0!!! The striker converts from close range following a mistake by Randolph to put the home side in front. Randolph kicks the ball straight to Pukki from a goal-kick and the striker surges into the left inside channel. He sends a low ball towards the back post where Stevens tries to intervene. The full-back gets a boot to it, but he knocks it back to the forward. Jensen seizes on the opening and dispatches his strike into the bottom-right corner.

He sent his first strike wide of the left post from the right inside channel before dragging another effort wide of the target. 20' Horgan offloads to Hendrick on the right flank and he sends his cross deep to the back post, but it's well over the head of Connolly, who fouls Granlund anyway.

7' Maguire presses Kamara following a loose pass out from the back from Hradecky, but the midfielder holds his ground to return the ball to his keeper.

1' We're underway in this Nations League clash.
This will be the Republic of Ireland’s second away game against Finland, and first since a friendly in August 2002, which Ireland won 3-0.
Ireland have made four changes to their side that drew against Wales. James McClean is suspended and misses out, which sees Maguire start on the left flank. Connolly gets the nod ahead of Shane Long in the final third, while Horgan also starts in support of the forward in place of Brady. O'Shea slots into the middle of the backline to replace Kevin Long.
Markku Kanerva has made three changes to his side from their win over Bulgaria last time out. Granlund gets the start at right-back ahead of Raitala, who drops to the bench. Soiri also comes into the fold on the right flank, while Jensen partners Pukki after his strike against Bulgaria. Niskanen and Pohjanpalo both make way to the bench.

Ireland played out a goalless draw against Wales in their last outing. They've claimed two points from their opening three matches, and if they want to push for promotion to the A Groups they're going to have to start picking up wins starting tonight. Stephen Kenny's men have failed to record a victory in 2020, putting pressure on Ireland to produce a performance sooner rather than later.
Finland secured their second win on the bounce in the Nations League Group B4 by defeating Bulgaria last time out. Strikes from Robert Taylor and Fredrik Jensen secured the victory, building off the momentum of their triumph over Ireland. The Finns are one point behind Wales in first place, but could leapfrog their rivals should results go in their favour tonight.
Good afternoon and welcome to the live commentary of the UEFA Nations League clash between Finland and Republic of Ireland at Helsinki Olympic Stadium.
