Commentary

Thank you for joining our coverage, we hope you enjoyed the game. Until next time, goodbye!
Everton travel to face Aston Villa next, while Burnley host Arsenal.
There goes the full-time whistle! Everton struggled in the first half and went behind eight minutes after the restart as Mee headed home from Gudmundsson's cross. However, former Burnley defender Keane nodded his side level on the hour mark and the Toffees sprung to life after that. Townsend hit a beauty into the top-left corner from distance in the 65th minute and Gray latched onto a superb Doucoure throughball to slot home just a minute later. It finishes 3-1 to Everton!
90' + 4' FULL-TIME: EVERTON 3-1 BURNLEY
90' + 3' SAVE! McNeil drives down the left and smacks an effort at goal from the edge of the area, but it's straight at Pickford, who holds on!
90' + 2' Everton work a lovely team move that culminates in Townsend crossing from the right, but it's a fraction overhit and ends up with Iwobi on the left. The substitute tries to put a low ball into the middle, but it's intercepted and hacked clear.
90' Everton are cruising to victory now. Burnley can't get a touch on the ball as the hosts stroke it around with swagger and confidence.
A. Iwobi
D. Gray
88' Gray is withdrawn by Benitez and is given a warm reception from the home crowd as he walks off the field. Iwobi takes his place on the left wing.
J. Rodriguez
C. Wood
86' Dyche now hooks Wood, replacing him up front with Rodriguez for the final few minutes of the contest.
83' McNeil steers an effort at goal as a clearance from a corner falls to him outside the box, but he doesn't hit it with any conviction and it's a tame strike that doesn't trouble Pickford.
S. Rondón
Richarlison
81' Benitez gives Rondon his debut as the game draws to a close, with Richarlison coming off to make way for the new man up front.
79' Everton are taking plenty of shots from distance, although not all of them are as good as Townsend's goal. Gomes hacks an effort well wide before Gray sees a shot charged down.
M. Vydra
A. Barnes
76' Dyche's second change is up front, with Barnes making way for Vydra as Wood's partner.
A. Lennon
J. Guðmundsson
76' Dyche makes a double-change now as he tries to get his side back on level terms. Gudmundsson is the first man off, with Lennon replacing him on the right wing.
75' NO GOAL! Gudmundsson floats the ball back into the middle from the left after a corner is cleared and Tarkowski gets there ahead of Pickford, who charged off his line and got nothing, nodding into an empty net! However, the flag then goes up for offside against the Burnley defender.
73' MISS! What a miss from Gomes! Doucoure squeezes the ball into the box for Gomes seven or eight yards out, but he somehow fires wide of the target! How has he not scored?! That would have been Doucoure's third assist of the game.
72' SAVE! Townsend gets to the edge of the box and hammers an effort towards the top-right corner, but Pope somehow gets across to make a stunning save!
70' Gray has now scored in each of his last three Premier League games, having scored in just two of his previous 32 in the competition.
68' NO GOAL! Coleman is fed on the right and he fizzes a low ball into the middle that Doucoure guides inside the far post from six yards out, but the flag goes up for offside!
D. Gray

A. Doucouré

A. Townsend
Goal
65' GOAL!!! WHAT A HIT FROM TOWNSEND!!! Doucoure feeds Townsend just outside the centre-circle and the winger drives forward before unleashing an incredible dipping strike that flies into the top-left corner past Pope, who had no chance! It's 2-1 to Everton now!
63' Everton are in the ascendancy now. They're not satisfied with being level and are still pushing forward in search of the lead.

57' Everton are pouring men forward with purpose now as they search for an equaliser. Burnley are being forced back into their own third.
55' Everton look to hit back after going behind and work it down the right for Coleman, who drills a low cross in that Mee blocks behind for a corner. That was a painful one for the Burnley defender.
J. Guðmundsson
Assist
53' Gudmundsson picked up the pieces as the initial free-kick delivery was cleared and cut inside before delivering a quality cross that Mee simply had to make contact with.
B. Mee
Goal

A. Townsend
Yellow Card
53' Townsend is furious now as he's booked for a foul on Taylor, who goes down as he feels the Everton winger's arm on his back.
51' Taylor is the latest Burnley player to avoid a booking despite sliding in on Townsend from behind. The winger is bewildered at the lack of a yellow card.
50' Benitez is furious as Tarkowski goes flying in on Richarlison at the touchline. The Burnley defender wins the ball but his follow-through is reckless. The referee doesn't see it as a bookable offence, however.
48' Digne stands over the free-kick and goes for the top-left corner, but he can't clear the wall and his effort cannons away.
J. Brownhill
Yellow Card
47' Townsend cuts inside from the right and drives towards the penalty area, but Brownhill wrestles him to the ground and the Burnley midfielder is booked as a result.
46' We're back underway for the second half!
Benitez will not be happy with how his side have played so far and will surely be contemplating changes at the break. Dyche, meanwhile, can be pleased that his men have edged the contest, but may be frustrated that they have nothing to show for it yet.
There goes the half-time whistle! Burnley had the better of the first half and could have taken the lead within six minutes, but Wood somehow failed to connect with McNeil's superb cross to the back post. Everton's best chance of the half came when Townsend found Doucoure in the box, but the midfielder was denied by Pope. It's 0-0 at the break.
45' + 1' HALF-TIME: EVERTON 0-0 BURNLEY
44' Wood finds himself in acres of space just inside the box as a cross comes in from the right, but it's just too high for the striker and Everton get away with it.
42' Everton's momentum seems to have fizzled out as the half-time whistle approaches. Burnley are inching their way forward now.
40' Richarlison's cross from the right is turned behind by Taylor and Digne swings the resulting corner in, but Godfrey is under pressure as the deep cross comes to him and can only nod harmlessly wide.
38' WIDE! Richarlison squeezes a pass in behind for Coleman, who drills a low ball into the middle for Gray, but the winger flashes his effort just past the near post! The flag then goes up for offside against Coleman.
36' The game is starting to develop an edge as Richarlison is hauled to the floor by Mee, but the referee plays advantage. Everton get the ball into the box, but it's headed clear.
34' Play is stopped as Mee is down holding his head, while Richarlison gets into a heated dispute with Tarkowski and a number of players from both sides converge, but nothing serious comes of it.
32' The corner is worked short and eventually it's switched from left to right where Keane hooks it into the box for Richarlison, but he can't quite get there as it's just ahead of him.
31' The home crowd have come alive since Doucoure's saved effort and are now roaring their team forward as they win a corner.
29' SAVE! Townsend cuts in from the right and slides the ball into Doucoure, making a late run into the box. The midfielder takes one touch before smacking an effort across goal from an acute angle, but Pope makes himself big and makes the save!
27' SAVE! The ball is knocked into the box for Wood, who finds Barnes with his back to goal. The striker lays it off for Brownhill, who takes a touch and drills an effort through the legs of Mina, but it's straight at Pickford who holds on!
25' Tarkowski leads with his arm as he contests an aerial ball with Mina, catching the Everton defender, but no further action is taken.
23' Everton are struggling to get the ball up the field quickly without the presence of Calvert-Lewin to hold it up. Burnley have been on top so far.
21' Replays of the earlier Mee chance show that Doucoure impeded Tarkowski in the box as the corner came in, but the VAR has not alerted the referee to the incident.
19' Mee comes charging in to attack a corner into the six-yard box at the back post, but he can't quite get there and it sails behind for a goal-kick.
17' Burnley have started strongly and are taking the game to Everton. Taylor hits the byline down the left and lofts a cross onto the head of Wood, but the striker has to backpedal to reach it and the ball loops harmlessly off him and into the arms of Pickford.
15' There's a sharp collective intake of breath as Brownhill loops a dangerous pass back to Pope, but the goalkeeper controls well and gets the ball away.
13' Burnley win a couple of corners in succession, but can't make the most of either despite sending plenty of men into the box.
11' A poor clearance from Mee falls straight to Gray, who tries to slip Richarlison in behind, but the Brazilian can't get to the pass and was offside anyway.
9' Gray receives the ball on the left and turns, driving inside before thumping a fierce effort at goal, but he drags it wide.
6' CHANCE! McNeil whips in a terrific cross from the left and Keane can't get to it, giving Wood the perfect chance to head in the opener, but the striker doesn't attack the ball with any conviction and fails to make contact! That was a real waste of an opportunity.
3' Brownhill scythes Richarlison down from behind early on and the Brazilian forward requires treatment. He's taken to the sidelines for further checks before eventually being allowed to return to the fray.
