    #1 Western Stima maintain lead

Western Stima has taken an early lead with a two-point gap at the summit thanks to their impressive start to the season. Even though it’s too early to predict, who will lift the KPL gong by August, the league newbies are giving their opponents a run for their money after they recorded their third straight victory against Kakamega Homeboyz, whom they beat 2-1. The electricity suppliers have so far scored only four goals but remain perched at the top with nine points - two above second placed Mathare United.

    #2 Tusker win first match

After dropping four points from a possible six in the first two games, Tusker finally managed to bag maximum points albeit at home against Mount Kenya United. The Brewers extended Mount Kenya United’s poor start to the season after registering a 3-0 win at the Kasarani Stadium. Debutantes Kevin ‘Ade' Omondi and Amini Muzerwa came off the bench to score with their first touch on the ball as Tusker ended a two-match winless run.

    #3 AFC Leopards remain winless

Ingwe have been starved of victories and it was Sofapaka, who once again took the catch from their mouth after a 2-2 draw at the Kenyatta Stadium. Ingwe thought that they were headed for a first win only for Cornelius Juma to score late in the second half to deny them maximum points on Saturday. The draw left coach Marko Vasiljevic still looking for his first win in the top league.

#4 KCB pick the first point

A resilient KCB finally brought to a halt Bandari’s two match winning run as the Bankers shared the spoils with the Dockers in Machakos. KCB, who lost their opening two matches, came from a goal down to pick a vital point against Bandari, a side that kicked-off the season with a win against Gor Mahia before humbling Sofapaka 2-1. Even though the draw did not reflect the true picture of the game, especially for KCB, who were the better side in the second half, coach Frank Ouna will draw some positives from the fact that his youthful side can compete with the big boys.
