Nokia Mobile brings you the Better players in Nigeria's 2-0 defeat to Madagascar at the Alexandria Stadium
#1 Better defender
Chidozie Awaziem: The natural centre-back was playing as a makeshift right-back again due to Shehu Abdullahi’s injury in the opening Afcon match against Burundi. He was solid once again in his defensive duties even though the team suffered a defeat.
#2 Better midfielder
Wilfred Ndidi: The Leicester City man has been one of the standout players at Afcon, and was excellent in his defensive midfield role despite coming off the bench after the interval. He limited the threat of Madagascar, with his brilliant tackles and interceptions.
#3 Better attacker
Samuel Kalu: It was a scary moment when the Bordeaux wide man collapsed in training a day before the Burundi game and was a doubt for the tournament. He, however, put up a strong fight and won his way back into the starting line-up, playing an impressive 73 minutes against Madagascar.
He made some key runs during the encounter but it was not enough to help Gernot Rohr's men avoid their first loss in Egypt.
