The Black Queens marked their first friendly match with a defeat as they prepare for the continent's flagship competition

Ghana's first international friendly ahead of 2018 Africa Women Cup of Nations ended in a disappointment despite a promising start to the game as they were defeated 3-2 by Zambia at Nkoloma Stadium in Lusaka on Saturday.
Coach Bashir Hayford named goalkeeper Patricia Mantey in post, while Gladys Amfobia, Linda Eshun, Felicity Asuako and Linda Addai made up the defensive setup.
Janet Egyir, Sherrifatu Sumaila, Grace Asantewaa, Elizabeth Addo made up the midfield, while Portia Boakye, Alice Kusi led the attack for the Black Queens.
Boakye, who plies her trade in Sweden with Djurgardens IF, opened the scoring for Ghana by the 21st minute after connecting a pass from Sumaila. Three minutes later, Egyir headed wide when she met a cross from her teammate.
The Black Queens doubled their lead by the 33rd minute through Addo after she made the hosts' defence pay for their lack of concentration.
However, Zambia found their way back in the game after the break. Rachel Kundanaji pulled one back by the 65th minute with a fine finish.
Ten minutes later, Kundanaji levelled the score for Zambia, before she found the match-winner with three minutes to full-time.
The Black Queens are expected to play South Africa in another friendly on November 11 at the Accra Sports before the tournament kicks off a  week later.
Ghana have been paired with Algeria, Mali and Cameroon in Group A of the Awcon.
