Yanga depart to Algeria without key players

Tanzanian defending champions Yanga SC have left the country for Algeria to face U.S.M. Alger in opening tie of the group stage of the CAF Confederations Cup without some of their key players.

The encounter is expected to take place on May 6 at 22:00 PM East African Time.

Yanga Information Officer, Dismas Ten has outlined that 17 players and 11 officials have yravelled to face their North African group rivals.

“Our players are well prepared and full of confidence. We respect our opponents but we need to win every match in the group so that we qualify for the next stage,” said Teni.

Kelvin Yondani who received a premier league match ban because of his conduct when play against Simba is not in the squad while other playes such as Ibrahim Ajib, Obrey Chirwa and Papy Tshishimbi also have not shown up.

Yanga are in group D with the likes of Kenyan giants Gor Mahia, Rwanda’s Rayon Sports and Algeria U.S.M Alger.
