An aggregate win for Sharks will pave way for a second round tie against either Yaoundé of Cameroon or Asante Kotoko of Ghana

Kariobangi Sharks coach William Muluya has maintained that they will strive to get a good result in the first leg match of Caf Confederation Cup.

The Confederation of African Football have drawn the youthful Sharks against fellow debutants, Djibouti’s Arta Solar in the preliminary stage. The first of this two-leg clash will be played at the Kasarani on Tuesday with the return leg in Djibouti City a week later.

An aggregate win for Sharks against Solar will pave way for a second round clash against either Yaoundé of Cameroon or Ghanaian giants Asante Kotoko. Muluya now says they know very little about their opponents hence the reason they must get a positive result at home to carry to the return leg.

“It is difficult for us to get information on the team but that will not stop us from going for a win. We can only be happy if we win convincingly at home as this will give them a tough task when we travel for the return leg,” Muluya told Goal.com.

“My players know it is the first time they are playing in the big stage and are looking forward to have a good outing. I have asked them not to panic but play as they always do. I am confident that we will go beyond the preliminary stage.”

On why he has preferred to stick with a young squad, Muluya said, “They have shown me now and then that they are ready to shine. If you lose experienced players, they create space for the young ones. I have a huge trust in my squad and I know they will perform even better in the league this season.”

Nick Mwendwa’s company will be in charge of match day ticketing where fans will part with Sh100 to access the stands. The tickets will be sold at Kasarani's Gate 2 and Gate 19.
