The Super Falcons midfielder has vowed that her side will do everything to retain their title at the expense of Banyana

Halimatu Ayinde says Nigeria will do everything to upstage South Africa in the final in the quest to retain the Africa Women Cup of Nations title in Ghana.

The Super Falcons are looking to clinch a record ninth crown, but they must negotiate their past Banyana Banyana, who defeated them 1-0 in their opening encounter at the Cape Coast Stadium.

And the midfielder, who was part of the team's back-to-back title successes in 2014 and 2016, has pledged her side's resolve to retain the title at the Accra Sports Stadium on Saturday.

"It is going to be more competitive. You just can wake from your bed and go for a fight without being well prepared," Ayinde told Goal.

"It will be more tough playing against them now than we did in the group stage but I believe that we better now than when we started and have good players who could face challenges and who have what it takes to get through tough situations like this many times.

"I have no fear in my heart because we will always find our way around every situation, not just against South Africa alone.

"I am saying this because of the kind of players we have here and the mentality of the team, I can say everyone is ready to do it for the country.

"Personally, coming this far with the team, I don't want to disappoint my fans, my nation, my dad, and myself.

"I want to give my very best because I know I am a great footballer come rain, come sun and hungry to win more African titles."
