Abia Warriors’ Samson Obi has credited the team's technical crew for their first away win of the season against MFM in Lagos.

Ndifreke Effiong’s 52nd-minute effort was enough to hand the Warriors the maximum points at the Agege Stadium and Obi who is now the team’s joint leading scorer with the goalscorer with seven goals said they kept to the instructions of their coaches from the beginning to the end of the fixture.

“I will say it was a game we worked tirelessly for. We listened to the instructions of our coaches and it was difficult for MFM to come back once we were in the lead,” Obi told Goal.

“It wasn’t an easy game at all because MFM are a good side and they showed that in the game by putting us under siege after the goal. We have been trying several times this season to get an away win but it has not been possible until now.

“We shall head back home and think about what we must do to beat El Kanemi Warriors. We are expecting another tough encounter because of their league position but we are determined not to spurn the golden opportunity that we have now.”

Abia Warriors by virtue of the win have jumped five places to eighth spot in the league table with 29 points from 21 matches after accruing seven points from their away trips.
