Valencia will look to extend their 16-match unbeaten run in all competitions on Wednesday evening when Real Madrid visit Mestalla.

Marcelino's side recorded an important 1-0 win over Sevilla on Sunday in the race for the final Champions League place and Los Che have gained real momentum in recent weeks.

Madrid meanwhile needed a last minute goal from Karim Benzema to secure a 3-2 win at home to bottom side Huesca at the weekend and they will be hoping for a better showing here.

Latest odds

Valencia are offered at 9/4 (3.25) with William Hill to record what would be only their fifth home win of the season.

The side from the east coast of Spain have drawn 16 matches this term, closing in on the record of 18 set by Deportivo La Coruna in the 2015-16 campaign.

Another stalemate is priced at 27/10 (3.70) with an away win available at 11/10 (2.10). The favourites came out on top in the previous meeitng, winning 2-0 at the Bernabeu in early December.

Team news

Thibaut Courtois remains injured for Madrid with Keylor Navas likely to return in goal after Luca Zidane started against Huesca.

Vinicius Junior is also still missing although Dani Carvajal has returned to full training and could feature. Valencia for their part have doubts over forward Ruben Sobrino and full-back Cristiano Piccini.

Valencia boast a strong recent home record against Real Madrid, with Los Blancos having won just one of their last six visits to Mestalla in all competitions.

Marcelino's side have plenty to play for sitting just three points off a Champions League place, while Real Madrid have little more than pride at stake in their remaining nine matches.

Zidane's side have the second best attacking record away from home having netted 28 times in 14 games. However, the 13-time European champions have also conceded 24 goals away from the Bernabeu, the third highest total in the division.

Tips and predictions

With that in mind, both teams to score and over 2.5 goals is priced at 3/4 (1.75) and looks like a solid option. This selection has paid out in 10 of the last 11 meetings between these two sides in all competitions and has another great chance of doing so on Wednesday.

Traditionally this fixture has provided plenty of goals and Los Blancos' record on the road this season should contribute to another exciting encounter.
