During his presentation on Monday, Deportivo Alaves new acquisition Patrick Twumasi stressed his readiness for the challenge ahead at Mendizorrotza.

The Ghana winger is set to continue his career in Spain until 2022 after joining El Glorioso from Kazakh side Astana last month.

“I’m very happy to be at Alaves,” Twumasi told the press at the event.

“I have had a very warm welcome from the fans. I am very happy to be here and I am going to do everything I can to help the team and to make fans feel proud of me.

“I’m very happy to be in a team as important as Alaves.

“I have worked very hard to have this opportunity. The coach has given me a lot of motivation to work here.”

The 24-year-old made 15 league appearances for Astana so far this season, netting eight times.

“Twumasi is a player that will provide versatility and speed,” said, Alaves sports director Sergio Fernandez.

“For us, it is a satisfaction to have players who understand from the beginning that this project will help them grow as footballers, and that will help us to set the goals we have.”

Twumasi, who has also played for Russian outfit Amkar Perm and Latvian club Spartaks Jurmala, has been handed jersey No.24 at Alaves.
