Tottenham v Liverpool preview: Mohamed Salah back to haunt Spurs

If a 2-1 loss to Watford last time out has Tottenham fans worried, than the imminent arrival of Liverpool star Mohamed Salah should have them terrified.

The Egyptian winger scored all three of the Reds goals against Spurs last season as his side continued to frustrate Tottenham.

Though Liverpool were handed a 4-1 loss in this corresponding fixture last year, Spurs have won just one of their past 11 Premier League matches against the Reds.

After tripping up against the Hornets prior to the international break, Mauricio Pochettino's men must pick themselves up quickly against Jurgen Klopp's side that is aiming to win their first five games of a season for only the third time in their history.

Having starred for the Reds last season, Salah has picked up where he left off this campaign - already with two goals and an assist to his name.

Against a Tottenham side that have leaked goals against Newcastle and Fulham this season, the Liverpool attacker will be backing himself to add to those tallies.

The Reds have struck nine times across just four games with a deadly front three of Salah, Roberto Firmino and and Sadio Mane set to cause Spurs defence all sorts of headaches.

While Salah has stolen the spotlight recently, Firmino has been Liverpool's consistent achiever in the final third and has had a hand in 15 more goals than any other player during Klopp's tenure at the club.

Just as Salah has shined against Tottenham, so to has Spurs striker Harry Kane taken a liking to the Reds defence.

The English striker has scored four goals in his past two games against Liverpool and will be eager to put a sluggish start to the season behind him.

With two deadly attacks set to face off, this clash is set to live up to its history of being a high-scoring affair with only Arsenal and Everton fixtures seeing more goals scored in Premier League history.

Expect Salah to be front and centre of the action on Saturday as Spurs look to shake their recent poor record against the Reds.
