The stunning Premier League stats behind Mat Ryan's outstanding October

The Socceroos shot stopper is hitting career-best form

October 2018 is a month Mat Ryan won't soon be forgetting with the Australian keeper not conceding a single goal as he steered Brighton and Hove Albion to three crucial Premier League wins.

Those three clean sheets earned Ryan a Player of the Month nomination and the stats behind his unbeaten run show why he's more than deserved the recognition.

Taking on West Ham, Newcastle United and Wolverhampton Wanderers respectively, the 26-year-old faced 17 shots on target in October and produced 17 saves to join Ederson, who made just three stops, as the only other keeper to boast a 100 percent save record.

Ryan was in fact one of the busiest keepers in October with only Joe Hart and David De Gea facing more shots on target.

The Socceroos number one has in fact had his hands full all season, making a total of 43 saves - the third most of any keeper in the Premier League.

After a solid first season with Brighton, Ryan is proving even more effective so far in this campaign with a save percentage of 73 percent compared to 69 percent in his last campaign.

Ryan faces some stiff opposition to claim some individual silverware for his outstanding October with Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang, Ross Barkley, Callum Wilson, Fernandinho and Anthony Martial all in contention for the award.

Regardless of whether the Australian wins or not however, there's no questioning what a great month October was for the Socceroos shot stopper, who has reportedly attracted the attention of Manchester United.

November however didn't start the way he would have liked with Brighton falling to a 3-1 defeat to Everton over the weekend.
