We will keep working, says Akwa United's Maikaba after Enyimba victory

Akwa United head coach Abdul Maikaba says his side playing approach earned them a 1-0 victory against Enyimba at the Godswill Akpabio Stadium.

Musa Newman's finish saw the Promise Keepers secure maximum points and moved up to the third position for the first time this season.
"I'm very happy for my team's victory against Enyimba. Right from time - before the game we know it will not be an easy match," Maikaba told Goal.
"Enyimba are a good team and they have shown that they can contest for the league title this season. They have a fantastic team.
"But we tried to score early and had to hold on until the end of the tie. We prepared the mind of the players ahead of the game. We know that they have the quality and we needed to work on how to contain them.
"What we did was that we tried to play with high intensity in our opening minutes hoping to push our opponents in those moments to create some scoring opportunities.
"We were lucky to utilize one of those chances thinking our opponents will come out so as to allow us to get more chances but they didn't. It was all about tactics. I think we are satisfied with the result.
"It is work in progress for us. We started badly at the start of the season and we were at some point at the bottom of the league but we continued to work hard.
"We are making progress gradually and it is the first time we are getting to the third position this season. This means we are climbing up step after step.
"We will keep working hard and stay focus in what we are doing. We won't relent and that's why thing looks good for us."
