The Premier League strugglers host the Gunners with Carlos Carvalhal's side hoping to move off the bottom of the table with another upset

Arsenal travel to Swansea to take on the Premier League's bottom side, who are looking to cause another shock after beating Liverpool in their last league game.

The Swans have been much improved under new boss Carlos Carvalhal, and he will be hoping to ruin Henrikh Mkhitaryan's debut for his new club. The attacker is expected to get his first taste of action for the Gunners having joined in a swap deal from Manchester United.

Arsene Wenger will be looking for a good performance from his new signing, but more importantly would like to trim the gap between Arsenal and the top four.

Position Swansea players
Goalkeepers Fabianski, Nordfeldt, Mulder
Defenders Olsson, Naughton, Fernandez, Rangel, Bartley, van der Hoorn, Mawson
Midfielders Carroll, Fer, Narsingh, Routledge, Ki, Dyer, Clucas, Roberts, Roque Mesa
Forwards Abraham, Bony, Ayew, McBurnie

Carlos Carvalhal has confirmed that on-loan midfielder Renato Sanches will miss out after suffering a hamstring strain in the FA Cup clash with Notts County, but Federico Fernandez could be in line to return.

Midfielder Roque Mesa is set to join Sevilla on loan and was recently pictured on social media in Spain, and probably will play no part as a result.

Potential Swansea starting XI: Fabianski, Naughton, van der Hoorn, Fernandez, Mawson, Olsson, Dyer, Fer, Ki, Clucas, Abraham.

Position Arsenal players
Goalkeepers Cech, Ospina, Macey
Defenders Debuchy, Mertesacker, Koscielny, Holding, Monreal, Mustafi, Chambers, Bellerin, Mavropanos, Kolasinac, Osei-Tutu
Midfielders Ramsey, Wilshere, Ozil, Iwobi, Reine-Adelaide, Xhaka, Maitland-Niles, Elneny, Mkhitaryan
Forwards Lacazette, Akpom, Dasilva, Nelson, Nketiah

Arsenal will be without long-term injury absentee Santi Cazorla, while Danny Welbeck is still sidelined due to a muscle problem.

Olivier Giroud is not expected to play, in part because of a hamstring strain, but also due to the fact that he could leave the club before the transfer window closes.

Alexis Sanchez moved to Manchester United last week but his replacement Mkhitaryan could simply replace him in the starting XI at Swansea.

Potential Arsenal starting XI: Cech, Bellerin, Koscielny, Mustafi, Monreal, Elneny, Xhaka, Wilshere, Mkhitaryan, Ozil, Lacazette.

Mkhitaryan's debut will likely be the big draw for Arsenal supporters eager to get a closer look at their new signing. The Gunners lost the attacking talent of Sanchez to Manchester United, so will be hoping that the Armenian can make an immediate impact.

Swansea will hope to cause a second successive Premier League upset, having beaten Liverpool 1-0 in their last home game. They played Notts County in the FA Cup at the weekend, but a much-changed side could only get a 1-1 draw at the League Two club.

Swans boss Carvalhal has impressed in press conferences since his arrival, and has already guided the team to victories over Watford, Wolves and the Reds. Despite improved form under their new manager, the Swans remain rooted to the bottom of the table, but a win over Arsenal could be enough to take them out of the drop zone.
