Steven Taylor's unbelievable miss for Wellington Phoenix

He may have played over 200 games for Newcastle United, but Steven Taylor couldn't hide behind his experience after missing an absolute sitter for Wellington Phoenix against Brisbane Roar on Sunday.

The 32-year-old defender had the ball break to him at the far post in the ninth minute and despite being just two metres out from an open goal, still couldn't keep his effort on target.

I guess there's a reason he's played his whole career at the back and not leading the line.

That said, Taylor has fitted in very quickly at the Nix and forced home their first goal of the season last week against Newcastle Jets which was deemed an own goal.

Despite that fact, this miss is one Taylor will be struggling to live down anytime soon - particularly as the match would end 0-0.
