Sports Tribunal has once again insisted that KPL will have to start with 16 teams, contrary to what league managers want

Sports Disputes Tribunal has ordered for the commencement of the 2017 Kenyan Premier League season by February 25.

The tribunal’s chairman John Ohaga has told Goal that the league must start before or on February 25 without two teams as they work on the ruling around Muhoroni Youth and Sofapaka.

Three new venues approved to host KPL matches

“I have ordered that the league must kick-off on or before 25th February without the 4 teams. The rest can join the league after the decision of the tribunal.”

This reiteration comes as a response to Kenyan Premier League Limited’s statement which marked that date for DStv Super Cup encounter with league kick-off being pushed to March 5.

Vice Chairman Ambrose Rachier had explained that they will not start without a complete league composition.
