Sammy Ameobi shines as Bolton Wanderers edge past West Bromwich Albion

Sammy Ameobi impressed as Bolton Wanderers battled to a 2-1 narrow win over West Bromwich Albion in their 2018-19 English Championship opening encounter on Saturday.

The forward helped Phil Parkinson’s men get on to a flying start against the Baggies when his cross was powered home by Josh Magennis in the 18th minute.

The Bolton No. 10 was then replaced by Craig Noone in the 50th minute after Harvey Barnes had levelled proceedings for Darren Moore’s side.

Yannick Wildschut ensured the Trotters secured maximum points in their opening game of the season with his 89th-minute effort.

Ameobi will hope to continue with another impressive feat when Bolton tackle Bristol City in their next league game on August 11.
