The Brazil legend has warned he might be forced to pick up playing again if the French youngster won't stop equalling his records

Pele has welcomed Kylian Mbappe to an exclusive club that now includes just the two of them, but has threatened to dust off his boots and return to the pitch if the youngster doesn't stop equaling his records.

Mbappe scored on Sunday to become just the second teenager in history to net in a World Cup final, Pele being the other, as France ran to a 4-2 win over Croatia

The 19-year-old had already tied a Pele record with his brace against Argentina in the round of 16, earning praise from the Brazilian for his efforts

And after Sunday's strike, Pele was once again full of praise for the Paris Saint-Germain star.

"Only the second teenager to have scored a goal in a #WorldCupFinal ! Welcome to the club, @KMbappe - it's great to have some company!" the 77-year-old wrote on Twitter.

Despite the praise, the Brazilian also beleives he may have to make a comeback and set some new records if the French youngster is going to keep pulling level with him.

"If Kylian keeps equalling my records like this I may have to dust my boots off again..." he joked.

Mbappe missed out on the World Cup Golden Ball, Croatia star Luka Modric taking home that award, but was named as the top young player at this summer's event in Russia
