Paris Saint-Germain v Saint-Etienne Betting: Giants to turn to Neymar genius to settle close tie

Neymar scored twice on his home debut for Paris Saint-Germain as Unai Emery's charges claimed a thumping 6-2 win against Toulouse in the French capital last weekend.

On Friday night, Saint-Etienne visit Paris for what promises to be a fascinating fixture from the top tier of French football. Both sides have enjoyed a perfect start to the season so far - indeed, Oscar Garcia's men have yet to concede, having kept a clean sheet in each of their opening three Ligue 1 fixtures.

PSG, though, will be determined to end that sequence, for Emery's men have already scored 11 league goals so far this season, while the Parisians, of course, added the aforementioned Neymar to their squad for an eye-watering world record fee this summer.

Emery's team were surprisingly pipped to the Ligue 1 crown by Monaco last term, but the Parisians are favourites to regain the title this term and PSG are expected to pick up all three points here. Indeed, the Ligue 1 favourites can be backed at just 1/10 (1.10) with bet365 to see off Saint-Etienne.

Garcia's charges can be satisfied with their solid start to the season, but the enormity of the task facing Saint-Etienne in this match is underlined by the 22/1 (23.0) quote on offer for the visitors to spring a surprise in the French capital, with 8/1 (9.0) that the match remains deadlocked at the end of 90 minutes.

PSG boast a potent threat in the final third and there is just 1/8 (1.13) that the side from the capital claim the opening goal of the game and 2/5 (1.40) that Emery's men score three or more goals in this one.

The hosts, however, shipped eight goals in three games at the International Champions Cup this summer and the loss of two goals against Toulouse last weekend could well offer hope to Saint-Etienne. 11/10 (2.10) is available that there are goals at both ends of the pitch, while the 8/11 (1.73) quote for at least two first half goals to be scored may be a solid selection.

All eyes will, once again, be on Neymar, but the Parisians have plenty of players who are capable of hurting the opposition and the Ligue 1 giants looked irresistible at times as they ripped Toulouse apart last Sunday.

Emery's team, though, do have a tendency to leave gaps at the back and Saint-Etienne will feel that they are capable of finding the net in Paris.

The 6/4 (2.50) quote for PSG to win a game in which both teams are on target, therefore, could offer good value for punters from Friday's fixture from the French capital.
