After the 24-year-old inspired the Sai Masu Gida Boys to a draw in Owerri, his manager feels he has potentials to bag more goals

Nwagua Nyima scored his third of the 2017/18 season for Kano Pillars against Heartland on Sunday and coach Ibrahim Musa has backed him to deliver more goals this season.

The 24-year-old, who joined the Sai Masu Gida Boys mid-way into the 2016/17 season scored in the 61st minute to cancel Okey Nwadike's first-half strike for the hosts Dan Anyiam Stadium.

Having helped the visitors extended their unbeaten run to four successive matches, the gaffer believes nothing is stopping Nyima from challenging for the top scorer gong.

"He [Nwagua Nyima] scored a very good goal and that was his third goal this season," Musa told Goal.

"He is a good striker and has every potential of becoming a top scorer too if he keeps his calm and continues to improve on himself. He has been wonderful and I am sure more goals will come from him for us this season."

On his side's draw in Owerri, the gaffer hailed his players for the good fight and enterprising spirit displayed against the hosts, while he is upbeat on their search for an away win this season.

"I must salute my boys for their good performance [against Heartland].  The poor situation of the Owerri pitch gave Heartland the opportunity of getting a draw against us but nevertheless, the one point was important to us.

"We really came here in search of an away win in our hope of winning the league title but we thanked God for the result. We will definitely continue to work hard and fight to get maximum points in order to achieve our ambitions this season."
