There were contrasting clashes in the Nike Premier Cup 2017-18 on Thursday with two tight games in Group B while Group D witnessed two high-scoring games.
The National Finals of the popular U15 Youth League, organised by the All India Football Federation (AIFF), is being held in Goa from 29th January with 16 teams, divided into four groups, participating.
Let's take a sneak-peek at what happened in Groups B and D, which were in action on Thursday.
In the first game of the day at the Utorda stadium in Goa, Aizawl FC drew 2-2 with Reliance Foundation Young Champs (RFYC). In what turned out be a thriller, RFYC had looked to be coasting towards victory after Balaji Ganesan put them ahead in the 48th minute. But Aizawl drew level in the 90th minute Lal Famkima. In the second minute of stoppage time, Aizawl seemed to have won the game after Malsawmtluanga Pautu scored. But immediately, Muhammed Basith Parathodi scored to restore parity. Both Aizawl and RFYC are at the top of the group with four points each but Aizawl have a better goal difference.
In the second game at Utorda stadium, Real Kashmir drew 0-0 with Bhaichung Bhutia Football Schools to open their account in the tournament. Both teams, who were defeated in the opening round, have a point each now after two games.

There were goals galore at the Nagoa ground in Goa where Group D action unfolded in the Nike Premier Cup. Kolkata giants East Bengal defeated SAG Football Academy from Guwahati 7-1 while DSK Shivajians pummelled Chennai's Raman Vijayan Soccer School 12-0.
For East Bengal, Arithra Mondal grabbed a brace while Bijay Mandal, Hasan Ali Molla, Akhay Dey, Sourav Bhakat and Amit Debnath all scored a goal each as they maintained their unbeaten start to the tournament. SAG Football Academy's consolation goal was scored by Rahil Osmanhasan Theba.
In the second game in the group, Bhuvanesh Rajesh Shendre was the hero for DSK Shivajians as the lad scored an unbelievable seven goals by himself. Neerav Pillai scored a goal while Sonminthang Haokip and Seigoumang Doungel bagged braces to add gloss to the scoreline.
East Bengal and DSK Shivajians are tied at the top of the group with six points each from two games but the latter is placed top due to a better goal difference.
