Nigel Adkins pleased with Aina’s performance vs. Ipswich Town

Hull City manager Nigel Adkins is delighted with Ola Aina’s performance in their 3-0 away win over Ipswich Town on Tuesday.

The Nigeria wing-back provided a cross for Harry Wilson to double the Tigers' lead after Markus Henriksen had opened the scoring in the 18th minute.

Jarrod Bowen completed the rout in the second half as the visitors coasted to a comfortable victory at Portman Road.

Aina who was on parade for the entire duration of the encounter was also on hand to help in his primary duties as his side kept a clean sheet, much to the delight of his boss.

“Markus scored a great goal to set us on our way, Jarrod then hits the post and then Ola Aina puts in a great left-footed cross from the right wing for Harry Wilson to score at the far post with a really composed finish,” Adkins told club website.

“We defended really well all night with a good, compact shape. We got the victory that we needed and we did all of the right things.

“We haven’t won too many games away from home in recent times, so it’s pleasing to get one here.”

The defender who joined the KCOM Stadium outfit at the start of the season on loan from Chelsea has now made 37 appearances for the club.

The win saw Hull climb to the 17th spot in the log having garnered 39 points from 37 games and they will be looking to continue the progress when they take on Birmingham City in their next English Championship outing on Saturday.
