Mtibwa Sugar Head Coach, Zuber Katwila has revealed that their failure in front of goal cost them in the 1-0 defeat against Simba on Monday.
Emmanuel Okwi was the match winner for Simba at the Jamhuri Stadium after his volley following a headed pass from skipper John Bocco in 23th minute.
However, Simba had to defend deep after the break, with Mtibwa Sugar having the majority of the chances and possession.
Speaking after the match, Katwila said that they created enough chances to finish the game but his players couldn’t take them that is why they ended up with a “painful” defeat.
“Simba is a good team with a lot of big and experienced players so when you do not take the chances you get they will punish you” said Katwila.
Mtibwa Sugar headed into the game with a lot of confidence after beating 3-0 Singida United last Saturday.
The defeat leaves them with 30 points in sixth place while Simba extended their lead at the top of Ligi Kuu table to 52 points, six ahead of their arch rivals Yanga in second place.
