The league title has been captured with four rounds of the Malaysia Super League remaining. Johor Darul Ta'zim (JDT) bagged their fifth consecutive league title, with a 2-1 away win over Perak on Tuesday.

In the match that was held at the Perak Stadium, the hosts opened the scoring through Nor Hakim Hassan's 72nd minute goal, but Hariss Harun equalised for the Southern Tigers just three minutes later. In the 83rd minute they completed their comeback, when Safawi Rasid headed a cross into the back of the net to give them the three points and secure the league title.

On Wednesday, bottom-placed Kelantan gave themselves some hope in the relegation battle, when they defeated recent FA Cup runners up Selangor 2-1 at home. Shafiq Shaharudin, who made his Malaysia debut last week, opened the scoring in the 35th minute through a wonderful curler, but the Red Warriors then missed chance after chance to extend their lead, despite the porous Selangor defence. Substitute Sean Selvaraj equalised for the Red Giants in the 78th minute, but in the 86th minute Danial Ashraf Abdullah's goal sealed the three points and gave them their first win since June 5.

Safee Sali and Bruno Matos then restored the hosts' lead, with their 25th and 31st minute goals. Flavio Beck Junior pulled one back for Negeri deep in the injury time of the first half, but Romel Morales restored PKNS' two-goal lead one minute into the second half, only for Angel Guirado to slash it back to one with his 49th minute goal.
