Kaizer Chiefs full-back Ramahlwe Mphahlele has revealed that his intention to join the club from Mamelodi Sundowns was to win at all costs.

Mphahlele had a bittersweet campaign as Chiefs failed to win silverware, but he was rewarded for his hard work at the club's awards on Thursday.

He said the awards he received on the night will challenge him to improve his performances and contribute more to the team's goal of winning titles next season.

“When I came to Chiefs, I knew I had only one choice and that’s to win,” Rama told the Amakhosi website.

“I knew I was joining a huge club with great history and pedigree. With these rewards, I am challenged to work even harder to improve my performances and contribute to the team’s goal of winning trophies next season,” he said.

After winning the club's Online Player of the Season as well as Players Player of the Season accolades, the 27-year-old admitted that it wouldn't have been possible without his teammates.

“Without my teammates this wouldn’t be possible. I wish to thank the entire Amakhosi family for the support during my first season with the club. I wish the team a good rest during the off-season and look forward to a great season ahead of us,” Mphahlele concluded.
