Orlando Pirates coach Milutin “Micho” Sredojevic has defended misfiring striker Thamsanqa Gabuza.

This is after Gabuza failed to score in their 1-1 PSL draw against AmaZulu at the Orlando Stadium on Saturday night.

Sredojevic called on the Pirates fans to support the Gabuza arguing he will repay them in style if they back him.

“He is a darling of the team. He is such a good, positive guy that you can’t imagine," Sredojevic said on The Star.

Gabuza has failed to score in his last eight competitive matches.

"Thabo (Matlaba) is his good friend. He will also agree with me that he is a nice guy who is good for the team," the Serbian continued.

The 30-year-old striker has netted only three goals in 13 league appearances this season.

"He has a very positive attitude at training. All of us really wanted him to break this jinx," Micho added.

"He scored two goals against Polokwane but since then he has got many opportunities to score that he has missed," he concluded.
