It’s victory or nothing in Pitso Mosimane’s eyes as Mamelodi Sundowns prepare for an all-important showdown against Nigeria’s Lobi Stars on Saturday.

With the Tshwane giants level on points with Wydad Casablanca, Mosimane could potentially have one foot through the door and into the next round of the Caf Champions League, but only if they are able to overcome the Ortom Boys.

This certainly excites Mosimane, who does not want to be looking for a result when they travel to Casablanca for their final Group A clash.

“Do you want to go to North Africa looking for a result? What does history say about all the South African clubs when we go to North Africa?” Mosimane was quoted as saying by Phakaaathi.

“The game is big for us and I always say I would love to win everything but if we look at the titles, we know which one carries the biggest weight. The Champions League is huge and if it is easy to win it then why can’t everybody do that?” Mosimane questioned.

Sundowns head into the game with their confidence high as they are second on the domestic standings level on points with log leaders Orlando Pirates.

However, Mosimane, who has already tasted continental success back in 2016, reveals that he will love nothing more than to put his hands on his and the club’s second continental title.

“The huge priority at home is to win the league but internationally, for the brand of Mamelodi Sundowns, it is the Champions League,” he added.

“I walk around in Morocco and people greet me in the shopping malls and ask ‘how is the team?’ It is unbelievable. That is Champions League for you and it is really an honour and you really feel you are contributing to African football,” he said.

“But before we go to the Champions League we need to be first or second,” he expressed.
