Davies completes $13.5 million move to Bayern Munich

Bayern Munich have completed the transfer of Canadian midfielder Alphonso Davies from the Vancouver Whitecaps, formally announcing the move on Wednesday.

Sources tell Goal the transfer is worth a guaranteed $13.5 million (€11.5m/£10m), with performance incentives that could take the deal above $21.5m and includes a 15 per cent sell on clause.

Monaco beat Chelsea to €30m Golovin

Chelsea have been handed a blow in the transfer market as Aleksandr Golovin has opted to move to Monaco rather than Stamford Bridge, with the Russia international set to put pen to paper on Friday.

Iwobi to sign new Arsenal contract

Arsenal attacker Alexi Iwobi has agreed to sign a new five-year contract worth £70,000 a week, reports The Sun.

Iwobi has been discussing a new deal at the Emirates Stadium for several months and has also attracted interest from Serie A side Lazio.

However, uncertainty over the Nigeria international’s future is due to end, with Iwobi expected to sign the deal when Arsenal return from their trip to Singapore, where they are playing International Champions Cup games against Atletico Madrid and Paris Saint-Germain.

An update on Alphonso Davies, and Karl-Heinz Rummenigge has now confirmed the teenager will join Bayern Munich from the Vancouver Whitecaps in January.

Sources confirmed to Goal on Tuesday evening that Bayern and the Canadian club had agreed on a transfer fee, with reports suggesting that the base cost is an MLS-record $13 million (£10m/€11m), with escalator clauses that could see the fee rise to $19 million.

Davies was in Philadelphia on Tuesday to complete his physical and agree on personal terms, the final steps to completing the deal, before CEO Rummenigge confirmed that the player would arrive in Bavaria in the new year.

Bayern Munich chairman Karl-Heinz Rummenigge has confirmed that defender Jerome Boateng is in talks with Paris Saint-Germain about a possible transfer.

The 29-year-old is believed to be on his way out of the Allianz Arena this summer, with Bayern having signed 22-year-old Niklas Sule last summer as his medium and long-term replacement in Munich.

Germany international Boateng is valued at between €50 million (£44m/£58m) and €60m (£53m/$70m).
