Kwara United host Shooting Stars in friendly rematch

The Harmony Warriors will be hoping to avenge their initial defeat two weeks ago when they welcome the second division outfit this week

Nigeria Professional Football League side Kwara United will host National League team Shooting Stars at the Kwara State Stadium, Ilorin on Thursday.

Two weeks ago, Abubakar Bala’s men bowed to a 2-1 defeat in front of their opponents’ fans in Ibadan but will be eager to avenge their first leg loss against the second tier outfit in Ilorin.

In a statement, club’s media officer Abdulwaheed Bibire said: “the management of Kwara United FC have agreed to face Shooting Stars of Ibadan on Thursday, July 26 in Ilorin.

“The match will be the return leg of the two-legged friendlies in which the Ibadan side won the first tie 2-1. The match will be played at the Kwara State Stadium and it will start by 3pm.”

Both teams are building on the preparations ahead of the resumptions in the respective leagues, with Kwara United aiming to retain their elite division status, 3SC are seeking a top-flight return.
