Despite the team suffering a narrow defeat, the midfielder has tipped the Harmony Warriors to escape the drop this season.

Kogi United Eghe Osas believes Kwara United have all it takes to avoid relegation from the Nigeria Professional Football League this 2017/18 season.

The Lokoja boys bowed 1-0 at the Kwara Sports Stadium, Ilorin on Saturday after a second-half header from Sanni Rabiu gifted the Harmony Warriors the victory in the front of their home fans.

And the midfielder that featured for the entire duration of the encounter has credited his mates for their good display against an ‘organised’ topflight side.

“It was really sad that we lost but I must admit that we had a good match against Kwara United,” Osas told Goal.

“Kwara put up a solid performance and stopped us in every attempt that we made to score. We really had our own chance to score but didn’t take them.

“We conceded from set-pieces which I would blame on loss of concentration. It was just a friendly and I believe it will certainly toughen us ahead of our league resumption.

“I must give credit to Kwara for the way to organised themselves and managed to win. I believe they have all it takes to remain in the Professional League. We will pick it up from here and ensure that we don’t repeat similar mistakes in the future.”
