Kaizer Chiefs manager Bobby Motaung cools transfer speculation

Kaizer Chiefs football manager Bobby Motaung has played down reports linking several players to the club.

According to Motaung, the Soweto giants are aware of the names bandied around in the media, but without denying or confirming anything, he said they will announce on their official platforms if there are new additions to the squad.

Amakhosi have already announced two new signings in Philani Zulu and Teenage Hadebe, and they are assessing a few players, including Malian defender Mahamadou Traore and Zimbabwean midfielder Tanaka Chinyahara.

Chiefs are expected to make a decision on Ndumiso Mabena, Tshwarelo Bereng and Bhongolethu Jayiya in the near future.

Motaung said Chiefs don't want to destabilise other clubs and confuse their loyal football fans by responding to every report in the media.

“We have seen names bandied around in the media. We would like to reiterate that if there are players that we are interested in to sign we will follow the correct procedure,” Motaung told the club website on Thursday.

"We do not want to destabilise other clubs and we also don’t want to cause confusion to our supporters. Any player movement will be announced via our official media platforms,” he added.
