ISL 2018-19: Jamshedpur FC's unbeaten record pleases Cesar Ferrando

Jamshedpur FC have moved to the summit of the 2018-19 Indian Super League (ISL) table with a four-goal draw at the home of Delhi Dynamos on Sunday.

Manager Cesar Ferrando has seen his side register 11 points in seven games and but expressed his satisfaction that the Men of Steel have remained unbeaten. However, he did accept that they could have pushed for full three points against Delhi.

"I think we played a good first half. In the second half, we made a big mistake but we managed to get the equaliser. In the last few minutes of the match, my team was a bit tired. I am happy that we are still unbeaten and we got one point.  Now we have to look ahead," said the former Atletico Madrid manager.

Jamshedpur took the lead through Sergio Cidoncha in the first half. However, Dynamos made three changes at halftime and that move paid off as they scored twice before the hour mark. It took skipper Tiri's header from a set-piece to even out the honours in the end.

"We lost two points today. I am disappointed with the score.  We were tired because two days ago we played a big match against Goa. Then we had to travel from Jamshedpur to Delhi. We had just one day of practice. In the end, however, it's football. Still, I am happy with the one point that keeps us unbeaten."

He further added, "We made one big mistake in defence. We cannot focus on one player. Defending is a task for the entire team. We defended very well I thought apart one big mistake which is football. We continue to work and try to be ready for the next match now."

Jamshedpur now have a 16-day gap before their next match on 21 November against Pune City.

"I think the break has come at a very good time. We have played four matches in the last 10 days and all four have been big matches. Kerala, NorthEast, Goa and now Delhi. So a big break like this can be very good for us.

"I have given the players four days off for now. Our practice sessions will resume in Jamshedpur on November 9. Now, we want to make full use of this break and make sure we are ready to go again when we take on Pune," he concluded.
