Akpeyi or Ezenwa can stop Senegal, says Dosu Joseph

Former Nigeria international Dosu Joseph believes either of Daniel Akpeyi or Ikechuhwu Ezenwa is capable of keeping Senegal at bay.

With first choice shot-stopper, Carl Ikeme ruled out of the clash due to injury, Gernot Rohr has invited relatively unknown Tope Okeowo to add to the duo of Akpeyi and Ezenwa who arrived camp late due to visa issues.

"I think any one of them can be called upon to be in goal - it is just a friendly game," Joseph told Goal.

"They need to come together and play as one like family and enjoy the game.

"The important thing is that they are playing a friendly game to understand one another.

"You can see the coach invited one or two new faces into the team. The games are meant for building up and for the players to understand themselves.

"They are in camp already, we have seen much of Ikeme who has done so well since he took over from Vincent Enyeama and Akpeyi as well as Ezenwa with the home based team.

"The important thing is that they should continue from where they have stopped. For me, I don't think we have any problem when coming to the goalkeeping area.

"We have better goalkeepers in Nigeria - either those in the national teams or those yet to be invited. We don't have issues with goalkeeping in Nigeria.

"In my opinion, I think any of them should be in goal but I believe the coaches know better because they've been in camp and they know who is training better and fit enough.

"I've seen all the goalkeepers as well as those in the league. I think whoever is called upon can do the job," he conlcuded.
