Al Masry head coach Hossam Hassan believes that the experience of his players will be their key to move forward into the group stage of the CAF Champions League.
Masry knocked out Zambia’s Green Buffaloes in the preliminary round and they are going to face Simba SC in play off encounter on Wednesday.
Speaking in Cairo via CAF official website, Hossam, 52 said that they deserved to win against Green Buffaloes, he added that his players have a good level of experience, and that will help them going forward in the competition.
“We thoroughly deserved to win against Green Buffaloes, my players have a good level of experience, and this will help us going forward in the competition. This stage is going to be more difficult and we have to be ready for that,” he said.
“We respect Simba, and will do our best against them. I believe we can qualify to the next round,” concluded Hassan, he added.
The return leg will take place in Port Said, about 200-kilometres from the Egyptian capital, Cairo on 17 March 2017, with the aggregate winner qualifying to the 2nd 1/18th round.
