Both teams made history by making it to the last eight, and it is the first time Gor Mahia will play at this stage in any continental competition after a number of failed attempts, in both the Caf Champions League and Caf Confederation Cup.
The Moroccan side, Renaissance Sportive Berkane, has never played in any continental competition. They have arguably done better than expected so far this season, but are aiming to contine this run all the way to the finals.

Coach Hassan Oktay will not be allowed into the technical area owing to the ban slapped on him by Caf during their final Group D match against Petro Atletico of Angola.
Keeper Boniface Oluoch is nursing a shoulder injury and will miss the tie, while midfield star Ernest Wendo and Shafik Batambuze will sit out the two legs after they were red-carded against Petro Atletico.
However, captain Harun Shakava and star striker Jacques Tuyisenge will be available for the second leg after serving a one-match ban on Sunday.
Despite all this, coach Oktay is confident that the team will grind out a good result.
“The unavailability of one or two players cannot affect us and even seven cannot affect us still. My philosophy is always that if I change seven players and introduce seven new ones, that should not affect my team," he said.
“I still have twenty-four players remaining but the fact is the game is going to be tough because it is a knockout match.”
Probable XI for Gor Mahia: Odhiambo, Otieno, Ochieng, Momanyi, Onyango, Juma, Muguna, Kahata, S. Onyango, Kipkirui and Oliech.
RS Berkane will be in a confident mood considering the fact that most of their players are available and ready for the job at hand. They know a win or draw away will be a great result ahead of the second leg at home.
Probable XI for RS Berkane: M'Hamdi, Nemssaoui, Dayo, Aziz, Mokadem, El Helali, El, Mobarakay, El Kess, El Haj, Farehane and Laba.
Gor Mahia will miss key striker Tuyisenge.
While Gor Mahia has enjoyed a good run at home - which saw them open a seven-point gap at the top of the Kenyan Premier League (KPL) table - RS Berkane has badly struggled domestically and are placed ninth on the log.
Rwandan captain Jacques Tuyisenge has scored four goals for Gor Mahia in the competition so far, but will miss the first leg due to suspension, while their opponents will have their Togolese international Kodjo Laba, who has scored three for the North African giants, available.
It will be another huge test for the Kenyan side as they come up against another North African team. Last year, the Green Army played Tunisia's Esperance in the Caf Champions League, before facing another side from the North in USM Alger of Algeria in the Caf Confederation Cup.
Zamalek and Nasr Athlétique Hussein Dey were their opponents in this season's Confederation Cup, where they managed to land the second place in Group D and qualified for the quarter-finals for the first time in their history.
K’Ogalo won none of their away matches, conceding seven goals in the process, but they won all their home games and conceded just two goals. Berkane, meanwhile, won two out of their three home games, drawing the remaining one.
Seven of the eight goals scored by Gor Mahia have come from the wing, with six directly coming from the wingers.
