Godfrey Walusimbi linked up with the rest of Gor Mahia squad in Friday’s training session, to officially end a 40-day ‘strike’.

The Ugandan defender downed tools on March 16 after he accused Gor Mahia officials of failing to honour the contract.

During the period, Walusimbi missed three crucial continental matches for K’Ogalo, including a Caf Champions League return leg match against Esperance.

Walusimbi also sat out against South African side SuperSport United (home and away).

The left-back was in a jovial mood in his first day of training in slightly over a month, after the club sorted the financial issue with his agent on Thursday.

Walusimbi’s availability will be good news for Coach Dylan Kerr, who has been grappling with a weak defence of late due to injuries and suspensions.

Goalkeeper Boniface Oluoch became the latest casualty after he was red carded in the last league match against Chemelil Sugar.
