Simba SC snapped up Gor Mahia striker Meddie Kagere on a reported two-year deal.

The Ugandan born Rwandan international has been on a fine form for the green army this season, scoring eight goals for the side in the process.

Gor Mahia captain Haron Shakava think that the move will be a blow to the team.

"Kagere has been one of our best players in the last two years, scoring goals for us and helping the team to do better.

“With the league, Confederation Cup and other competitions coming we are going to miss him dearly.

"But we have players like Samuel Onyango who can step up and prove they are worthy replacements."

Gor Mahia are set to play Posta Rangers in a Kenyan Premier League tie on Tuesday, then take on Sony Sugar three days before departing to Tanzania for Cecafa Kagame Cup.
