Having bowed to Sai Masu Gida in Kano, the Omoku based boys' gaffer is anticipating a home win against Duke Udi's men

Elechi Ngozi believes Go Round can bounce back against Sunshine Stars in their Nigeria Professional Football League tie at the Krisdera Stadium.

Last Sunday, the newcomers had a 2-0 defeat at Kano Pillars no thanks to penalties converted by Alhassan Ibrahim and Junior Lokosa in the 58th and 85th minutes at Sani Abacha Stadium

Having watched his side failed to end Musa Ibrahim’s men six-match unbeaten run, the gaffer is trusting a fair officiating would boost their chances for victory against the Owena Whales.

“There are no hard feelings at all that we lost because we have great character as a team," Ngozi told Goal.

"In all matches, we have played this season I think this is the game that we have lost by a 2-0 margin.

“My team did not deserve to lose in Kano but we not the worse team because we have seen some teams lose two games already at home.

Teams like Kwara United and others but we have always marched on winning gallantly at home.

"The team (Kano Pillars) even deserved to score more goals at home. If the penalties are deserved, it should be made.

"We played El Kanemi Warriors recently and my boys were given a red and seven yellow cards.

"We could have defeated El Kanemi in that match but the referee frustrated us with his bad calls. There are some certain cautions and decisions that the referees must endeavour to make correctly.

"If Kano Pillars end up winning the league, everyone knows it was well deserved. Because we know competition in Caf competitions are not same as what we have in the league."

"The referees should help ensure that the players play with the right mentality that teams can go anywhere to win and capable of losing at home too," he continued.

“I'm hundred percent satisfied with the officiating against Kano Pillars and I believe we can win if we get better officiating against Sunshine at home."

A victory over Sunshine Stars, Go Round will ease their relegation fears as they bid to climb out of the bottom four of the Nigeria Professional Football League log.
