The 19-year-old Crystal Palace man looks back on Sunday's tie with the league leaders

Crystal Palace defender of Ghanaian descent Timothy Fosu-Mensah says Sunday's Premier League draw with leaders Manchester City is a sign of good things to come for the struggling outfit.

Having been on an incredible 18-game winning run, City saw their streak halted by a plucky Palace side, who held their own to force a 0-0 stalemate at Selhurst Park.

It was nearly three points in the bag for the Eagles as Luka Milivojevic spurned a stoppage time penalty.

“I think it was a good game, we fought really hard, worked hard and gave a good performance," Fosu-Mensah said, as reported by his club's official website.

“Obviously, they have good qualities, they have good players. We were aware of that and we did well. I’m happy with the team.

“Obviously, if we score the penalty we would have two more points but Luka was great today and I think the whole team did really well. I’m happy with the performance and the good result."

On a season-long loan from Manchester United, Fosu-Mensah played the entire duration of Sunday's fixture.

It was his 13th league appearance for the Eagles.

“I’m happy with the way I played," said, the Netherlands international.

"I have a lot to learn. I learn everyday on the training pitch with the manager, Ray [Lewington] and Reidy [Steven Reid]. I’m just developing and it’s up to the fans to say if it’s my best performance.

“We work hard on our shape on the training pitch, they train us how to be tight, to press, how to stop the crosses. I think we are doing well.
