After making unsuccessful forays into politics, Gor Mahia have inducted their revered legend, Jerim Onyango to it's technical bench.
Onyango tried his luck in politics by running for a Member of County Assembly seat in Ugunja ward but did not make it past the primaries, and has since joined the club where he is working as the junior team`s assistant coach.
In his new job description, Onyango will deputise Tom Ogweno, who was formerly the senior team`s assistant coach. Fondly known as "Jagoal", Onyango had a respectable playing career with the outfit rising through the ranks to captain the team in the last four years.
"It was prudent he works for the club he's served with dedication and if funds become available, we will sponsor him to a coaching course even if it means going abroad," K'Ogalo top official Ronald Ngala enthused.
By offering him a new role, the club hopes to tap into his vast skills and experience, with the overriding objective of churning out fresh talents. Attacking midfielder Amos Nondi and Teddy Osok are some of the talents, who have sprouted out of the K`Ogalo academy.
