Alex Hunter, star of FIFA's The Journey series, has partnered with the Common Goal charity as part of a partnership with EA Sports.

The partnership will see Common Goal included in the recently-released FIFA 19 as players will have the chance to join up with the charity as part of the Journey, a mode which sees players take control of Hunter's rise through the professional game.

EA Sports has also donated $200,000 to streetfootballworld, the organisation that launched Common Goal last summer.

“I am delighted to be able to announce this innovative agreement with EA", said Common Goal co-founder Jürgen Griesbeck.

"As one of the largest companies of its kind, with an important role within the broader football industry, this new relationship represents an exciting opportunity for all of us here at Common Goal.

"EA has an incredible reach, with fans of all ages across the world.

"We are eager, with their help, to further engage with an audience that really believes in our mission of changing the world for good through football”.

Common Goal was founded in an effort to raise money for charity with the aid of football.

To date, a number of the game's biggest stars have taken the pledge to donate one per cent of their salary to the organization, with Juan Mata, Mats Hummels, Alex Morgan, Kasper Schmichel and Georgio Chiellini among the most recognizable involved, while Banco Santander and Danish club side FC Nordsjælland have also joined UEFA President Aleksander Ceferin in partnering with the organization.

“As both an EA brand ambassador and a Common Goal member, this is an announcement that I’ve really been looking forward to," Morgan said.

"I know the great work that Common Goal is enabling across the world and likewise, I know how passionate everyone at EA is about using their power to affect positive change."

In FIFA 19's Journey mode, the final installment of the series that began with FIFA 17, Hunter joins Real Madrid to replace Cristiano Ronaldo as he hopes to lead the Spanish club to Champions League glory.
