.The Confederation of African Football (Caf) announced the draw results for the 2018/19 Confederation Cup on Friday.
Founded in 1974, Zega Mambo are wholly owned by the power utility, Zesco and they became the first Zambian club to qualify for the group stages of the Champions League in 2009.
They are one of only three Zambian teams which hold an all-time record where they are unbeaten at home against a foreign clubs.
Although the reigning Zambian champions are yet to win any Caf competition, their highest finish was reaching the semi-finals of the Champions League in 2016 where they lost to eventual champions, Mamelodi Sundowns.
Managed by the experienced coach in George Lwandamina, United have won seven Super League titles and five Copa Barclays trophies.
Zega Mambo reached the Confederation Cup Last 32 in 2006, first round in 2010 and Last 16 in 2013, before managing a quarter-final berth last year.
They are one of the most supported clubs in Zambia and they are also known to their passionate fans as Zescolo, Team Ya Ziko and Zeglacticos.
Their influential players are Lazarous Kambole, Jesse Were and John Ching’andu.
Zesco launched their continental campaign against Congolese giants TP Mazembe in the Champions League, but a 2-1 loss on aggregate meant that they were demoted to the Confederation Cup.
