Former Barcelona loanee Ezekiel Bassey is likely to make his debut for Akwa United against El Kanemi Warriors in a rescheduled Nigerian top-flight encounter on Thursday.
Having ended his six-month spell at Barcelona ll in 2017, the winger parted ways with his parent club Enyimba to join the Promise Keepers during the mid-season transfer window in April.
After completing his move, the 21-year-old former Super Eagles man will don jersey no 10 and look set for his debut with Abdu Maikaba's men.
Confirming his switch, the club media officer, Mfon Patrick said," Akwa United have successfully completed the signing of Super Eagles and former FC Barcelona Team B Forward Ezekiel Bassey.
"Bassey who played for Enyimba International before traveling to Spain may be available for selection in a rescheduled NPFL game against El-Kanemi Warriors on Thursday.
"It will be the player's second stint with the club and he has been assigned jersey No 10."
Seventh-placed Akwa United will be relying on their latest signing Bassey to secure their second away win of the season against struggling Imama Amapakabo's side in Maiduguri.
