Dwarfs coach Hayford relieved after Liberty Professionals victory

Ebusua Dwarfs coach Bashir Hayford was all smiles on Sunday following his side's 2-1 victory over Liberty Professionals in matchday seven of the Ghana Premier League in Cape Coast.

The outspoken coach, who was under intense pressure after failing to win any of their previous five games, admitted he was relieved after Liberty win.

"We're relieved and extremely happy after the win over Liberty Professionals. This is only our second victory in the campaign so it's understandable," Hayford said.

"It was a tough game because Liberty are also struggling and are not safe on the log. Also, whenever they get good pitch to play on, they exhibit good football so it was a tough battle.

"What impresses me a lot is our ability to equalise and then find the winner after going down in the game. I believe we will be able to improve on this performance because I know where this team has reached in terms of preparations," he added.

Dwarfs have moved out of the relegation zone for the first time in several weeks and currently occupy 11th position with eight points.

They will travel to Dormaa Ahenkro to play Aduana Stars on Wednesday, but the game is likely to be postponed due to the latter’s participation in the Caf Confederation Cup.
