The red and black have said farewell to two talented players

A week after pre-season began for the club, Western Sydney Wanderers have confirmed Chris Ikonomidis and Steven Lustica won't be playing for them next season.

Ikonomidis joined the club on loan under Josep Gombau and savoured the game time as he scored three goals across 10 appearances for the club.

He is now expected to return to Lazio, though whether he remains long term is yet to be seen with the 23-year-old struggling to establish himself in Italy

Lustica meanwhile played 30 games for the Wanderers across two seasons with his most famous goal coming in a pre-season match against Arsenal.

The 27-year-old midfielder is reportedly weighing up offers from Dutch side VVV-Venlo and Croatian club NK Inter Zaprešić.

Croatia looms as the most likely option for Lustica, who played there for Hajduk Split between 2011 and 2013.
