Daniel Arzani misses out on Celtic's Europa League squad

Having sealed a two-year loan at Celtic from parent club Manchester City, Daniel Arzani has been handed an early blow in his quest for regular football after not being included in the Hoops 43-man Europa League squad.

Though yet to play for the first team, the 19-year-old has featured for the Celtic's reserves as he looks to earn his senior debut under Brendan Rodgers.

While unlikely to become a regular fixture of the squad this season, the omission of Arzani from their Europa League side suggests the Aussie may be further down the pecking order than first thought.

A number of teenage attackers like Grant Savoury and Michael Johnston were included in the squad that does boast Australian midfielder Tom Rogic.

Arzani could still be added to the squad at a later date if he does impress in the Premiership, with clubs able to add up to three players to their squad should they reach the Round of 32.

One likely reason behind Arzani initially missing the cut is the fact he was ineligible to be named on Celtic's B list and a lack of club-trained and association-trained players on list A resulted in the Hoops losing two spots.
