Cyprus v Bosnia Betting: Guests to showcase goalscoring potential again

7:00 pm AEST 30/8/17
Bosnia Herzegovina Gibraltar 03252017
The hosts have been comfortably beaten by the bigger sides in the group and Bosnia should be able to record another win by at least two goals

Group H is one of the most competitive in European qualifying for next year's World Cup, and Bosnia currently sit third in the table behind Belgium and Greece.

Anything other than a win against Cyprus in Nicosia could be a serious blow to their hopes of making it to Russia next summer and they recorded a 2-0 win over their upcoming opponents at home last year.

Since then, however, the Cypriots have recorded wins home and away against Gibraltar to keep alive their mathematic hopes of qualification, although realistically they need a win against Bosnia to keep that dream alive.

Nevertheless, Genting make the hosts clear outsiders at 11/2 (6.50), while a Bosnian win is priced at 8/15 (1.53) and the draw is available at 3/1 (4.00)

In the six matches that Cyprus have played in the group, the side have only managed to score against minnows Gibraltar. With Bosnia keeping clean sheets in four of their six matches, the hosts are likely to struggle in front of goal once more.

The visitors are priced at 6/5 (2.20) to win without conceding and this selection paid out comfortably in their previous meeting last September.

For slightly higher odds though, the price of 13/10 (2.30) for Bosnia to win with a -1 handicap looks generous, with Mehmed Bazdarevic's side having shown their proficiency in front of goal.

Bosnia have racked up 5-0 wins against both Gibraltar and Estonia and, while Cyprus should prove slightly better organised opponents, the visitors can still win by at least two goals.

June saw Cyprus beaten 4-0 in a friendly by Portugal, while the island nation's three defeats in qualifying over the last year have all come by at least two goals against Bosnia, Belgium and Greece.

The visitors on Thursday evening should be too strong for a side they beat well a year ago, and backing Bosnia to win with a -1 handicap looks like an excellent angle for punters in this game.
