Ghana striker Kwesi Appiah has completed a short-term deal from English Premier League side Crystal Palace to Norwagien giants Viking FK.

The 26-year-old suffered an anterior cruciate ligament injury in June 2015 while on international duty with Ghana, ahead of the 2017 Africa Cup of Nations qualifier against Mauritius and only recovered few weeks ago.

Appiah was part of Ghana's squad that won silver at the 2015 Afcon in Equatorial Guinea and was hoping to build on that to gatecrash into Crystal Palace's starting XI.

"It is our pleasure to confirm that Kwesi Appiah is now a player of Viking FK. The Ghanaian comes on loan from Crystal Palace, and the loan will last until June," a club statement read.

Appiah expressed his delight after penning the deal and promised to score goals to help the club.

"I'm looking forward to contributing to Viking. It will be a little tweaking, but it will go smoothly. My focus is to help the team and score goals," he said.

"Football here is different, but I have great respect for it. Moreover, it is unfair to compare between the leagues, the only thing I can do is to contribute in the best interest of both myself and the club."

Appiah is expected to make his debut for Vikings on April 3, when they face Valerenga on opening day of the Eliteserien.
