The race for a top-four finish could go down to the final day of the Premier League depending on the outcome at Stamford Bridge

Liverpool manager Jurgen Klopp has made just one change to his team for the Premier League game against Chelsea at Stamford Bridge.

Fresh from sealing a place in the Champions League in the final on Wednesday, Klopp has decided against making wholesale changes for the test against Chelsea.

Nathaniel Clyne replacing Jordan Henderson is the only alteration from the Liverpool team which started the 4-2 defeat by Roma at the Stadio Olimpico in midweek.

Trent Alexander-Arnold will move into midfield alongside James Milner and Gini Wijnaldum, while Mo Salah makes his first return to Stamford Bridge since leaving Chelsea in 2015. The Egyptian makes his 50th Liverpool appearance here, and has scored 43 goals in his previous 49.

Chelsea also make just the one change to their team, with the returning Marcos Alonso coming back into the side at the expense of Emerson from last week's 1-0 win at Swansea.

Alonso has completed a three-match suspension and will take his place on the left-hand side as Olivier Giroud continues up front.

Alvaro Morata is not in the 18-man squad for the game as the Spain international is injured, leaving Chelsea without a recognised striker on the bench as Ross Barkley, Pedro and Willian provide the attacking alternatives on the bench.

Victory for Chelsea would ensure that the race for a top-four finish would go down to the final day as Antonio Conte’s side can move to within three points of Liverpool, while also having a game in hand.

Liverpool, though, can all-but secure their Champions League spot by avoiding defeat. Lose, and they will need to beat Brighton at Anfield next Sunday.

Chelsea XI: Courtois; Azpilicueta, Cahill, Rudiger; Moses, Kante, Bakayoko, Fabregas, Alonso; Hazard, Giroud.
